Having retired from Industrial ISD in 2021, where she taught for 16 years, she jumped on the opportunity to teach at St. Joseph High School. Mrs. McManus has taught all levels of Spanish, from Spanish I to AP Spanish, as well as coached many UIL Academic spelling teams. During her coaching years she was responsible for taking many students and teams to the State level, where they won many State Championships along the way. Mrs. McManus joined the STJ faculty as a Spanish teacher in 2021.

What do you like about teaching at St. Joseph High School?
As a product of Catholic schools, it is exciting that I've come full circle and joined the St. Joseph family and its long-standing tradition of academic excellence and faith-based learning. As a Spanish instructor, it is my hope that my students will gain an in-depth knowledge of our neighbors to the south, their rich and broad cultural traditions and language, and how they Catholic faith has shaped their rich heritage. It is my belief that learning a language can open so many doors, and not only will it enrich a student's personal life, but is a wonderful skill set to have in their personal growth as well.
